The Art of Curation

I started Pathway Partners because I couldn't find what I was looking for.

I wanted an experience that combined art, wildlife, and authentic South African culture - something intentional, unhurried, and impossible to find in any guidebook.

It didn't exist. So I built it.

I left a career that looked perfect on paper to pursue something I couldn't stop thinking about - bringing together world-class artists, private game reserves, and the kind of details most people overlook - into experiences that stay with you forever.

Pathway Partners isn't a travel agency. It's a curation.

Every experience is designed from scratch. Every artist is handpicked. Every reserve is chosen because it offers something rare. And every detail - from the handmade welcome gifts to the private game drives - is there because I believe luxury isn't excess. Its intentionality.

This is South Africa the way it was meant to be experienced.

'Travel is more than visiting places - it's the intentional details that will make a trip truly unforgettable.'

Where You’ll Be Staying

Zebra Hills - Manyoni Private Game Reserve, Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal

An outdoor patio area with trees, outdoor furniture, and a modern two-story house in the background. Sunlight filters through the branches, casting shadows on the wooden deck.

Manyoni Private Game Reserve spans 23,000 hectares of KwaZulu-Natal wilderness and is home to the Big Five, over 400 species of bird, and some of the most paintable landscapes in South Africa. It's remote enough to feel like another world. It's comfortable enough that you won't want to leave.

This is where Pathway Partners hosts all its artist retreats, chosen deliberately for its scale, its wildlife density, and the quality of light that artists keep coming back for.

Indoor dining room with a large wooden table, eight chairs, a stone fireplace, and a large open window showing a backyard with a pool, patio furniture, trees, and greenery.

Every Pathway Partners Retreat Includes

The Art
Every retreat is led by one artist, teaching every day, to a group of twelve. Not a rotating faculty, not a lecture hall — a week of genuine, personal attention.

All Materials Provided
Professional-grade paints, brushes, paper, sketchbooks, and everything else your retreat requires. Arrive with nothing but curiosity.

The Elephant Connection
Time with Rambo and Rachel, two elephants who survived a herd culling in the 1980s and now roam the bushveld with the keepers they've bonded with as family. You'll hear their story from the rangers who know them best, and — if you'd like — feed them by hand.

Twice-Daily Big Five Game Drives
Morning and evening, with expert rangers. Lion, elephant, rhino, leopard, buffalo — not a day trip, but your daily reference material, seen up close.

Wine Under an African Sky
Guided tastings of hand-selected South African wines, poured at golden hour with the day's work drying on the table beside you.

All Meals, Drinks and Snacks
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and everything in between. Sundowners in the bush each evening.

Zulu Cultural Performance
Traditional dance and storytelling — the culture of the land you're painting, from the people whose land it is.

Return Airport Transfers
Collected from King Shaka International, Durban, and delivered back. You handle the flight; we handle everything after it.
